Klunk to Host Free Shredding Event in Hanover on Sept. 19
9/2/2020
HANOVER – As part of efforts to protect private information, Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) will host a free shredding and identity theft prevention event for residents of the 169th Legislative District. The event will be held in the parking lot of her office located at 118 Carlisle St. in Hanover on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to noon.

“We have seen an uptick in the number of reports of identity theft these past few months in the wake of COVID-19,” Klunk said. “Ensuring documents that contain important private information are shredded is a small but vital step toward protecting identities.”

This event will allow residents to have their important documents shredded for free. Residents are encouraged to bring documents that contain credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account information to be shredded. In addition, books, magazines and binders will be accepted. Information on identity theft prevention will also be available.

Due to COVID-19, attendees are asked to follow these guidelines:
• Event participants must stay in their vehicles.
• All shredding materials must be placed in the trunk or truck bed area of the vehicle, not the backseat, prior to arrival. Event staff will unload materials while residents remain in their vehicles.
• To minimize the exchange of materials between event participants and staff, please transport materials in containers you will not want returned to you.

This is an event for residents only; no businesses, please. For more information, contact Klunk’s district office at 717-630-8942.
