Give Police More Tools to Help Victims of Domestic Violence

Police departments in York County saw upticks in the number of domestic violence calls, including York Area Regional Police that saw a 36% increase, according to media reports.

Klunk: Local Organization that Supports Armed Forces Members Saved by Grant

HANOVER – The Hanover-based For the Love of a Veteran Inc. received a $45,000 grant, essentially saving it from closing, Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) announced. The Veterans Trust Fund grant will be used to supply care packages to members of the United States Armed Services who are serving throughout the world.

No Wells? No Worries! York County Continues to Benefit from Natural Gas

YORK – A former feed mill in York County, once used as a prop for Gov. Tom Wolf’s severance tax tour, is being torn down despite the absence of a severance tax on Pennsylvania’s natural gas consumers. To date, York County has received nearly $3.5 million dollars, including more than $378,000 it received today, in impact fees from taxes on unconventional gas wells in Pennsylvania despite there not being a well in the county.
