State Legislators Announce Wildfire Fighting Grants for Local Companies

HARRISBURG – Porters Community Fire Company in Heidelberg Township and Union Fire and Hose Company No. 1 in Dover are among more than 130 fire companies across Pennsylvania to receive wildfire fighting grants, according to state Reps. Seth Grove (R-Dover) and Kate Klunk (R-Hanover). Porters was awarded a $4,000 grant while the Union Fire and Hose grant is for $2,000.

Her legislation, House Bill 321, would include prenatal Down syndrome diagnoses as a legal reason why babies can’t be aborted in Pennsylvania. The bill now goes to the full House for a vote.

HANOVER – To honor a fallen hero, Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) will be joined by local elected officials to dedicate the Valley Street bridge in Glen Rock to U.S. Army Warrant Officer Martin E. Bixler, who was killed during the Vietnam War. The ceremony will be held at the bridge on Friday, March 29, which is National Vietnam War Veterans Day, starting at noon.
