HARRISBURG— Steam Into History, Inc. DBA Northern Central Railway of York Tuesday was awarded a grant in the amount of $43,506 from the PA Arts and Culture Recovery (PACR) grant program, according to Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover).

“PACR grants invest in community and cultural resources to preserve them for future generations,” said Klunk. “Northern Central Railway is a great educational resource for individuals, families and history buffs who are interested in learning more about Southern York County’s rich railroad history and Civil War influence. This award will help preserve a unique part of our local history of generations to come.”

“The team at Northern Central Railway is grateful for the additional funding provided by this grant,” said Ashley Zimmerman, executive director. “The dollars from PACR will be used to cover the cost of new programs and marketing with the History Museum in New Freedom Borough. It’s through support like this, that we can continue to expand and revamp programs for the community and its visitors.”

Northern Central Railway requested this assistance from the COVID-19 ARPA PA Arts and Culture Recovery program.
