HARRISBURG— Steam Into History, Inc. DBA Northern Central Railway of York last week was awarded a grant in the amount of $4,000 from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), according to Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover).

“Northern Central Railway is a treasure in the 169th District. Our area’s unique railroad and Civil War history attracts history buffs from across the Commonwealth and the nation who are looking to learn more about this formative period,” said Klunk. “I am pleased to see these dollars invested in a community asset which brings not only educational value to the area but offers a lot of fun for all ages.”

“The team at Northern Central Railway is grateful for the additional funding provided by this grant,” said Ashley Zimmerman, executive director. “The dollars from PHMC will be used to make needed improvements that will ultimately lead to a better guest experience. We are always looking for ways to expand and refine our programs, and support from grants plays a significant role in making things happen.”

Under PHMC criteria, the grant awarded may be used for general operating support initiatives within Steam Into History.
