HARRISBURG- Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) announced new state grant funding has been awarded to a Senior Community Center (SCC) in the 169th District.
South Central York County Senior Center has been awarded a state grant totaling $15,310 for the use of creating and improving programs and services.
“SCCs play an important role in our communities, so I am very happy to see these state grant dollars reinvested locally. SCCs do more than provide meals, activities, and opportunities to socialize. They also help our seniors thrive and live independently as they continue to age,” said Klunk. “I look forward to seeing what South Central York County Senior Center does with the funding.”
South Central York County Senior Center is just one of 48 SCCs throughout the Commonwealth that has been awarded the Pennsylvania Department of Aging’s 2022-23 Senior Community Center grants. The sum of all 48 awards is $2 million in funding appropriated by the General Assembly from the Pennsylvania Lottery.
These grants are to be used to update and modernize facilities, provide new health and entertainment programs, upgrade technology enhance nutrition services, and more.
