Klunk to Host Free Shredding, ID Theft Prevention Event in Hanover on Sept. 28

September 12, 2019

HANOVER – As part of efforts to protect private information, Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) will host a free shredding, identity theft prevention event for residents of the 169th Legislative District. The event will be held near Dick’s Sporting Goods in the North Hanover Mall, 1155 Carlisle St., on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon.

“Roughly 1 in 15 Americans fall victim to some sort of identity theft each year. Those are better odds than winning the lottery,” Klunk said. “One of the easiest ways to prevent valuable information from falling into the wrong hands is to shred important documents.”

This event will allow residents to have their important documents shredded for free. Residents are encouraged to bring documents that contain credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account information to be shredded. In addition, books, magazines and binders will be accepted. Information on identity theft prevention will also be available.

This is an event for residents only; no businesses, please. For more information, contact Klunk’s district office at 717-630-8942.
