Klunk, York County DA to Host Important Child Safety Program

March 14, 2019

HANOVER – Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) and York County District Attorney Dave Sunday will host a seminar to assist parents with protecting their children online. The event will be held at South Western High School, 200 Bowman Road, Hanover, on Wednesday, March 27, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

“With disturbing news of clips encouraging young children to commit suicide found spliced into children’s cartoons on the internet, this seminar is extremely timely,” Klunk said. “Parents will learn about the steps they can take to protect their children online.”

The cyber security program aims to protect children online, while providing parents with important information pertaining to the social media platforms being used by kids today. The presenters will discuss the dangers associated with many of these applications, how predators utilize them and the consequences. There will also be a question-and-answer period to allow attendees to seek answers to specific questions they may have.

“Children of today live in a far different world than the one we grew up in and parents often aren’t aware of the threats that are out there,” Sunday said. “This seminar will address these issues and provide parents with the guidance they need.”

For additional information about this event, contact Klunk’s office at (717) 630-8942.
