Klunk to Host Free Veterans Assistance Hours
March 6, 2017
HANOVER – To better provide access to benefits for veterans, Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) will host a series of veterans’ assistance events in her district office, located at 118 Carlisle St., Suite 300, in Hanover this month.
“It is very important veterans and their families have easy access to learn more about programs and benefits for which they are eligible,” Klunk said. “That is why my office is hosting representatives from two organizations who not only understand benefits and programs, but have the knowhow to work closely with veterans.”
Veterans’ outreach assistance with a representative from the American Legion will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, and from 2-6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28.
Terry Gendron, director of York County’s Department of Veterans Affairs, will be in Klunk’s office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, March 27, to assist veterans.
Some of the services available to veterans and their dependents include assistance with compensation, pension claims, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any issues pertaining to veterans’ benefits. All veterans and their spouses are encouraged to sit down with a veteran service officer to understand what services may be available for them.
Contact Klunk’s office at (717) 630-8942 to make an appointment.
